ExamArena collects data to optimize your study sessions. The types of data collected include:
- Uploaded Study Materials: The PDFs, notes, documents, or raw text pasted by the user to build topics and quizzes.
- Preferences: User settings such as display name, interface language, difficulty tier, and preferred explanation style.
- Quiz History: Score percentages, wrong answers, strong topics, weak zones, and study activity stats.
- Billing Details: Payment and billing email transactions are securely managed via Stripe. We do not store raw credit card numbers.
2. Session and User Accounts
To keep your experience frictionless, ExamArena utilizes a local session-ID model stored in your browser's local storage (`localStorage`). This ID maps to your user profile and generated arenas in our backend database. If you clear your browser cookies or use the "Danger Zone: Clear Session" button in your profile, your access key is deleted and we cannot retrieve your history.
3. AI Data Processing
To generate summaries, topics, and questions, the extracted text from your uploaded materials is sent dynamically to AI providers (such as Groq or Ollama) depending on the environment configuration. No personal identification data (like your email or name) is forwarded to these AI processors.
4. Cookies and Analytics
We use necessary cookies to maintain session states and user theme configurations (light vs dark mode). We do not run invasive cross-site tracking cookies.
